Callaway X-22 Lady Irons 3-9PS Review

    This Callaway X-22 Lady Irons are the six improved version and still incorporate the classical designs of previous X-series irons such as multi-layer thickness clubface and 360-degree dark groove to tune CG location. Tru-Bore clubhead top adopts Polycarbonate material to weaken vibration for high MOI and flight route expected. X-22 adopted an entirely new design for its notch weighting to shift weight to position which is helpful for the best performance. The MOI of this X-22 is 10% higher than the previous irons of the same category while keeping the same center of gravity location to promote the best trajectory and distance control. The streamline head shape along with slightly thin blade top line and large sweet spot of sole help enhance beauty and forgiveness to inspire golfers’ confidence.

    Now let’s look at the technologies in detail. The first is Precision Notch Weighting. The weight is precisely moved to head perimeter to create higher moment of inertia for better forgiveness and stability. At the same time, X-22 kept the previous CG location to create an optimal trajectory and distance control. The second is the design element for professional club. Engineers gathered some concepts used in the design of professional clubs into this X-22 Irons such as thinner blade top line and narrower sole, etc. to create higher MOI and more forgiveness. The use of this design makes X-22 fit for wider range of golfers. The third is the improved Tru-Bore design, an upgraded edition of the original Tru-Bore. The use of polycarbonate plug on sole decreases vibration and enhances hand feel and performance. VFT technology realizes a maximum of ball speed and perimeter weights to promote further distance and more forgiveness. S2H2 technology increases free weight by decreasing hosel weight and placing saved weight to perimeter. The 360 degree cavity back design makes CG lower and more closed to head for the largest perimeter weight. The hitting face was enlarged and clubhead was stabilized to provide more forgiveness.
